Assignment 12: Sliced Web Page

In Assignment 12, the goal was to make a web page using a method where the page is designed in Photoshop and saved into slices. I decided to go with a metal texture theme. In Photoshop, I created a header section, navbar section, content section, and a would-be side section. Then, I sliced the different sections, and used Dreamweaver to get the different slices into divs and form a web page.

I am a little disappointed with how this turned out, honestly. My time window was very small, and I feel, with more time, I could make a better quality page. But, I did what was needed and what was required.

Assignment 11: SLAM cover

The goal of assignment 11 was to create a SLAM cover. My personal goal/idea was to use Lightwave to create a 3D image for the word slam, and then use Photoshop to add in of text, which is exactly what i did.

Overall, I like the 3D part of the cover, while I am content with the rest of the cover.

Note: The word SLAM used a font that is Shareware, so the cover can't win for the SLAM cover. Although, I do have plans to make a different one with a different font, because I did not know it was shareware until it was completed.

Assignment 10: Shape Animation

In Assignment 10, the goal was to create shape animations using Adobe After Effects. What I did was mess around with the shape tool and divide the "canvas" up into two sides. One side had colors that were based on the Seattle Seahawks team colors, while the other side had the team colors for the Detroit Lions (two football teams I care a lot about). After rendering out of After Effects, I took it into Premiere and put music over it.

Overall, I feel content about the finished video. The shapes were simple, and the animations were simple, but very different. I think the music adds a little bit to the dramatic effect.

Assignment 9: Interactive HTML5 Slider

Before

After

The goal of assignment 9 was to create an interactive slider with a themed text using a combination of Photoshop and Adobe Edge Animate. I chose a metal theme for my text and added an overlaying texture along with some screws to get a metal look, while also trying to keep it very straight and perfect.

I am satisfied with how the assignment turned out. It is very simple, but it also fits the requirements of the assignment.

Assignment 8: Drawing Tablet Artwork

In assignment 8, the goal was to use a drawing tablet, along with a compatible pen, to create something in Photoshop or Illustrator. I decided to use Photoshop to give it more of a genuine look as if it were done on a piece of paper. I took a concept of an alternative look to the Alliance logo for the game World of Warcraft and also tried to give it a shield kind of look.

Overall, I'm happy with the way this turned out. Given more time to be able to work with the drawing tablet, I could have probably done something less boring, but my time was limited. Though, with the time I had available to me, I feel this turned out well.

Assignment 7: Photo Gallery (using Java Script)

In assignment 7, the goal was to create an online photo gallery using Java script. The assignment was a little difficult to complete, because I had to remember back to the web design class and try to remember what things can work and what doesn't, as well as trying to upload to the server. The link to the gallery is here: Gallery

All-in-all, I think I did okay on this assignment. The website is a little simple, but not too distracting. Though, I don't have very many photos in the gallery.

Assignment 6: 3D Pop-Up Photo Gallery

In assignment 6, my goal was to create a 3D pop-up gallery of photos, and animate it.

What I did was use Adobe After Effects' ability to create 3D animations to make fly a camera across a plane holding the photos.

Overall, I feel this end-product turned out well. I really like the music I used to help create a better atmosphere.
